Machine Type Used to Treat These Conditions
Varilite™ Lasers: 532 nm, 940 nm
  1. Used to trace out red or purple blood vessels on the face or legs. No bruising after treatment.
  2. For treatment of brown spots (lentigines or "liver" spots, freckles)
  3. Full face treatment for global rejuvenation.
V-Star and Cynergy Pulsed Dye Laser 585-595 nm
  1. Vascular lesions - Gold standard laser for vascular lesions (blood Vessels)
    • Rosacea & facial redness
    • Telangiectasias (fine red or purple spider veins)
    • Hypertrophic scars and stretch marks
    • Port wine stains and some hemangiomas
  2. Acne - Can use laser alone or in combination with ALA (photodynamic therapy)
  3. Wart removal - higher energies typically used on recalcitrant warts
Lightsheer Diode Laser 810 nm Gold standard - Hair removal for all body areas. Ideal for:
  1. Patients with dark hair
  2. Patients with ligher skin (skin types I-IV)
Acclaim Nd:YAG Laser 1064 nm Long-pulsed
  1. Hair removal in dark skin (skin types IV-VI) or tanned skin. Can treat any skin type safely. Gold standard for treating darker skin such as African American skin.
  2. Vascular lesions
    • Leg and facial veins
    • Thicker vascular lesions e.g. blebbed port wine stains, venous lakes
Affirm Infrared 1440nm A second generation "fractional" device (creates tiny holes in the skin, leaving surrounding skin intact for rapid healing and safer treatment) Similar to Fraxel (competitor) but Affirm is less painful and has less downtime than Fraxel.

Affirm Multiplex Infrared -1440nm (superficial) and 1320nm (deep) "Fractional" 1440 nm for texture and tone 1320 for tightenting Both wavelengths are emitted in sequence by the laser

  5. Skin laxity/tightening - The addition of the deeply penetrating 1320nm wavelength provides deep heating and visible tightening of the skin
Intense Pulsed Light Multiple wavelengths or colors of light

  3. Photofacials - target sun damage - with little or no downtime.
  4. "Power Photofacial" - Photofacial done with photosensitizing agent (Levulan) for faster results
    • Targets sun damage and precancers
    • Some downtime-patient must avoid sun completely for 24 hours after treatment
Thermacool or Thermage Radiofrequency energy Improves skin tightness and tone, stimulates collagen contraction

Thermage is used for face, neck, eye area.

New indication is skin tightening off the face such as the abdomen, thighs, buttocks and arms.
Medlite C6 Q-switched Nd:Yag laser (1064 nm and 532 nm)
  1. Tattoo Removal (Best for black, dark blue, red colors)
  2. Lentigines (brown or "liver" spots on the face, chest, arms, legs)
  3. Skin rejuvenation

Blu-U Blue Light 417 nm Used to activate Levulan (ALA) for photodynamic therapy.

Useful for treatment of actinic keratoses (precancers), photodamage, acne, sebaceous hyperplasia
Triactive Cellulite Reduction Combination low energy laser, massaging suction and cooling Used for smoothing and reducing cellulite (dimpled skin) on the buttocks, thighs, arms, and abdomen as well as for facial rejuvenation.

Massage and low level laser promotes lymphatic drainage.
SmartCool Cold air machine Blows chilled air at skin
  1. Pain reduction for injections and laser treatment
  2. Surface cooling for laser and intense pulsed light treatments
Megapeel Microdermabrasion
  1. Exfoliation of skin, smoothing of surface texture
