Acne scarring can be extremely damaging to one’s self-esteem. We have treated hundreds of patients with acne scars over the years. For ice-pick scars (tiny deep holes), we recommend CROSS using 100% TCA applied in a pinpoint manner directly into the scar. Rolling scars (depressed valleys with gentle edges) can be dramatically improved with subcision, using a needle to undermine and raise the scar. Boxcar scars (craters) can be surgically excised or can be treated with lasers, including fractional CO2 laser. The key ingredient when treating acne scars is patience. Multiple treatments, done repeatedly and on a consistent basis, will get the job done.

“It is of my own accord and with great pleasure that I write this recommendation letter for Dr. Richard Ort. I was very much impressed and pleased with the professionalism and skill that Dr. Ort handled my needs at the Dermatology & Laser Institute.”
“I had a small, circular scar on my forehead from chicken pox as a child. I looked into removing it, as I give many public presentations. In my initial evaluation, Dr. Ort took great care with me, and answered all of my questions (which I had many of), even some questions that I asked multiple times. I realized that any surgical procedure (of any size, even as small and non-invasive as mine) takes the professionalism, technique, and skill of the doctor. This couldn’t be truer of Dr. Ort. He made me feel comfortable on the day of my procedure and performed it with great skill. I am very much pleased with the results.”
Sincerely, Paul
